Scalextric has signed a deal to sponsor Henry Surtees a young racing driver dubbed the “next Lewis Hamilton”.
Henry Surtees is the 16 year-old son of former Formula 1 and motorcycle Grand Prix world champion John Surtees. Henry competes in the Formula Renault UK (FRUK) championship.
Henry Surtees, was sponsored by Scalextric in Formula BMW category last year, but has now progressed to FRUK and will race for the Manor Competition team. The team was once home to the 2007 F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton.
Henry’s new car will carry the Scalextric livery throughout the 20-race season.

Scalextric, is rumoured to be planning a special James Bond Scalextric set in 2008.
An officially licenced tie-in racing set will be produced for the 22nd James Bond film, due out on 7th November 2008 (with the toy likely to be in stores in time for Christmas next year).
